What kind of game is RuneEra?
RuneEra is a fantasy colony-management RPG developed by Spellstead Games. Build a guild settlement, organize work and production, customize members with runes and lead parties into a procedural world of quests, factions and dungeons.
Which platforms are planned?
The planned platforms are Windows, macOS and Linux. Check the Steam page for current system requirements.
Is RuneEra single-player or multiplayer?
RuneEra is a single-player game. You manage the guild and can take direct command of groups when movement, combat or abilities need close coordination.
When will RuneEra release?
Q1 2027 is the planned Early Access release window on Steam, subject to change. Steam carries the current release announcement.

What do I manage in the settlement?
Build rooms, organize storage and crafting, grow crops and care for animals. Assign work priorities and schedules while looking after members’ food, rest, health and equipment. Shared stock and equipment rules help organize a growing guild.
How do runes change my guild members?
Runes provide abilities and passive effects that help members fill different roles. Character runes can be removed, so you can adjust a setup as you find new options. Equipment runes also support customization of weapons, armor and tools.
How does dungeon exploration connect to colony management?
The settlement supplies your adventurers with food, equipment and medicine. Form caravans of guild members and animals to explore the world, then return with resources and rewards. Quests and dungeons are sources of runes that can strengthen the guild for future challenges.
Does RuneEra support mods?
RuneEra supports custom content through its data-driven systems. The DQuest visual editor is designed for creating quest logic that can be imported into the game. Public access to the web editor and sample mod project is listed as coming soon on this website.
