Mana

Mana is used to power your abilities and magical structures. Your maximum Mana can be increased by researching new technologies. As your pylons gather mana and fill your reserves, mana corruption builds. Once your reserves are full, excess mana adds no further corruption. Corruption slowly fades over time. At higher corruption, undead invasions and sieges can bring more undead and more hives. At normal settings, 100% is the level sustained by a fully upgraded pylon network storing all its output.

Mana abilities

Mana abilities are global powers controlled by you, the player. They spend your mana reserves and can turn the tide of battle or avert catastrophe. Static abilities, such as Revive, are permanently unlocked through research. Dynamic abilities come from mana runes found in dungeons. Research mana ability slots to use these runes. These are separate from character rune slots.

Pylon

Pylons generate mana and have a global build limit. Placing multiple pylons in the same area reduces their individual efficiency. To generate more mana, upgrade their tier or build them in higher-tier areas.

Tip

Compare daily production with consumption and keep a reserve for abilities. Disable unnecessary consumers, especially essence siphons, when reserves fall. Check pylon limits, tier and area efficiency before building more. Mana depletion and disabled structures can stop production chains.
