Vitality

Vitality, the red bar below health, is a secondary life pool for living units. It absorbs a small portion of any damage you take. This absorption is improved by the endurance stat. When your health is depleted, all damage is applied directly to vitality. When vitality is depleted the unit dies. Additionally healing received is reduced with lower vitality.

Recovery

Vitality regenerates slowly and cannot be healed by magic. This recovery is sped up by rest and medical treatment. For an instant boost, a health potion can restore vitality but has a very long cooldown.

Bleeding

Occurs when vitality falls below 60%. Deals Vitality damage over time and reduces mood and movement speed. Requires medical treatment to stop.

Unconscious

Occurs when vitality falls below 25%. Unit is knocked out and unable to perform any actions. While unconscious damage reduction is increased.

Tip

After combat, move wounded units to safety and let them rest in beds. Check medical work and medicine supplies before sending them back into danger. Rest in a medical room improves recovery. Health healing does not replace lost vitality; use the Treatment and Disease guides to plan care.
